The organization is called Clean Ocean Action. The website has campaigns, education programs, and facts about how to prevent offshore oil and gas drilling from harming the ocean and the lives of those on the coast. The website is mainly about keeping the waters from New York to New Jersey clean and safe from ocean pollution, such as plastic waste that harms marine animals and oil spills that cause our seafood to become toxic and unsafe to eat.
When the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded and spilled oil all over the Gulf, many animals were soaked and some of them died from the toxins in the oil not making them able to eat. Citizens living along the coastline lost their abundant supply of seafood after wind blew oil into their usual fishing grounds and poisoned the shrimp and tuna caught for markets.
If you are one of those that cares about our ocean resources and keeping the water and seafood healthy and free of pollution, check out the Clean Ocean Action website to see how you can prevent offshore oil drilling and pollution in the ocean. Click on this link:
As a tip for the week, reduce, reuse, and recycle. You can do these three things by consuming less energy and using reusable water bottles, bags, and food containers. Recycle what you can, such as soda cans. plastic cups, and old household goods.
Check out the clean ocean link and stop toxic offshore oil drilling. Have a good week.
