We love Home Depot. We go there nearly every day to buy two dollars worth of string for J man to twirl. He goes in, we ask for assistance, he unrolls the amount of rope he wants from the big spool, then he asks for scissors w/the iPod...often this is where the waiting, insisting and "i know what the hell I am doing buddy" game comes in because Jus insists on cutting it right where it leaves the spool and only jus can reach that high...and for some reason people are a afraid to give an autistic kid a freakin' pair of scissors. Anyway...most are extremely helpful and talk to him so he is able to complete the operation without yelling. Then we buy it and that requires some fun waiting which jus and the cashier staff at Home Depot do beautifully. I think they love him. yaaaaaaay

Please know that I am a poet and a scientist...so how I deal with discomfort is I ask questions, I manipulate words and rhythms and I dance around issues that I feel strongly about. When I use the word dance, please know that I am no ballerina...I prefer sharp, awkward maneuvers that express my passion. So when I dance around issues, there is no guessing how I feel about them...take nothing personal but please
take action. zen jen |
